The Friday Prayer is one of the most important gatherings for Muslims. It is an excellent place for Muslims to be inspired to take their religion more seriously and strive more for the sake of Allah (swt). In non-Muslim countries, the Khutbah of the Friday Prayer may be one of the few opportunities for Muslims to be reminded of their religion. Therefore, it must relate to their lives showing them how to practice Islam and inspiring them to adhere it.
It is, however, said to think that some Muslims may be going to the Friday Prayer hoping to hear words that will inspire and motivate them, but they return home disappointed because the Imam did not deliver a khutbah that would be beneficial for the people attending the mosque. Many times, though, the person who gives the khutbah must be excused. It is often difficult for those who have been given the responsibility to deliver khutbahs to think of what exactly they should say. Many times the one who is delivering the khutbah is simply a volunteer who did not have much time to prepare.
It is this kind of phenomena that has lead to the prepration of this book. It is meant to help people deliver khutbahs. Allah willing, it will help Imams deliver khutbahs that are relevant to the people and discuss matters that are of concern today. Most importantly, it discusses those matters in the light of the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah. The author has done his best to verify that every hadith used in this work is authentic according to the scholars of hadith.
